Where do we teach?

We utilize the great areas in and around Calgary, including beautiful Kananaskis Country. Our courses are often conducted on one of the following locations:

      River                        Lake and Touring

Bow River Class I - II                * Glenmore Resevoir

Kananaskis River Class I - III     * Ghost Resevoir

Red Deer River Class I - III+     * Upper Kananaskis

Elbow River Class II - IV               Lakes  


What do Participants supply?

Participants are responsible for their own:

◦Transportation (unless otherwise noted)

◦Accommodation

◦Personal Clothing

◦Food

◦Equipment (unless otherwise noted)

Courses with "All Necessary Equipment Included" include:

◦Boat

◦PFD

◦Paddle

◦Helmet

◦Wetsuit (certain courses only)

◦Spray Skirt (kayaks only).

Most of our courses begin with some time spent on flatwater. This allows participants just starting to learn the basic strokes necessary to control the boat. More experienced paddlers will appreciate the time to improve stroke effectiveness, which translates into more control and fun on the river.

How to Register:

Complete the RMPC registration form 09.pdf as thoroughly as possible. Mail to address on the back page or fax to us with cheque, money order or credit card number for the full course amount +GST. You can also email the form to us with a credit card number. Registration in a course or trip is not guaranteed without full payment. Please book a minimum of two weeks in advance. Phone registrations are also accepted. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a course without notice.

 

Welcome to RMPC for 2009! The Rocky Mountain Paddling Centre has been guiding and instructing in the Calgary area for over 16 years. We have built our reputation around the highest quality programs that you can find. Our goal is to "Create an exciting learning experience in a safe and comfortable environment". RMPC's professional staff are a unique group of individuals who have two important qualities. One being their love of paddling, the second, their desire to share their skills and enthusiasm with other paddlers. Our nationally certified staff strive to provide an atmosphere that encourages learning, fun and safety.

We are committed not only to providing first class instruction, but also to excite you about the fun of paddling.
