We offer Canoe Kayak Canada’s River Kayak Leader 2/Instructor 2 certification. This nationally recognized kayak certification certifies instructors to lead and teach on a Class II white water setting. Candidates must be able to demonstrate instructor quality paddling, rescue and teaching skills on class II water. At the completion of the course candidates will be “trained”. To be “certified” a separate evaluation must take place with an outside evaluator. This year candidates can be evaluated for free at any of the AWA sponsored events including:
– Three Rivers Rendezvous – Pincher Creek May 19-21
– Paddlefest – Red Deer River July 7,8
Thursday and Friday are evenings 6:30-9:00, Saturday and Sunday are all day.
